未練がましい人は、相手にかけた気持ちや時間とか時にはお金に執着する。残酷な人は、そういうものは持ち合わせていない。これ以上はダメだと思ったその瞬間から、プッツリと気持ちを切ることが出来る。優しさってそういうものなんだと思うんだ。相手の状態がどうであれ、出来る限りのことを自分がする。それでもダメって思ったら、後ろ髪を引かれながらも背中を向ける。

そういうのが優しさってもんじゃないかな。私はそういう付き合い方をしたい。

応えてくれたら嬉しいけど、応えてくれなかったら相手の負担にならないように、ひいては自分を必要としてくれている人のために、背を向ける。そうしないとさ、自分のために動いてくれている人や気を配ってくれている人に対して申し訳ないじゃないか。あなたの今の立ち位置や環境って、あなた一人が作ったものではないんですから。
